Using KIT's predictions when creating a list of contacts for solicitation is a great way to create data-informed strategic lists, resulting in more donations and increased donor engagement.
As mentioned in Understanding Predictions & How to Use Them, when looking at a group of donors that fall into a certain prediciton (e.g. Major Donor Potential), we are showing you the widest possible range of opportunities. This means if you have a donor that greatly, or slightly, resembles what we have identified as indicators of a Major Donor, they will appear on the list.
To narrow down your prediction lists, we recommend adding filters to create a more strategic lists that reflect your campaign goals and target audience. Below we have included common lists organizations are interested in building, recommended filters to narrow down the lists, data exporting tips, and suggested KPIs to track the success of your lists.
Note: you do not necessarily need to use all the 'recommend' filters below; we are offering suggestions on filters you could add to help you narrow down your list to your list size preference.
Major Donor Prospect List
Use Case: I want to identify major donor prospects to increase the number of major donors using the Major Donor Potential Prediction.
- Segment 1 - identifies donors with a high likelihood to become a major donor & are likely ready to donate.
- Overarching filter logic = ALL
- Filter: Major Donor Potential > is > Very High Potential
- Filter (Recommended): Donor Readiness > Contains any of > Ready & Shows Potential
- Segment 2 (recommended segment) - makes sure you will only include donors that have had a medium or large donation in the past.
- Overarching filter logic = ANY
- Filter: Badge > Contains any of > Medium
- Filter: Badge > Contains any of > Large
- Segment 3 - combines segments, so you are seeing donors who are likely to become major donors, are likely ready to donate, and they have given a larger amount in the past.
- Overarching filter logic = ANY
- Filter: Segment > Contains any of > Segment 1
- Filter: Segment > Contains any of > Segment 2

Use Case: I want to reach out to our existing major donors with an ask.
