Contact Demographics

When clicking on a specific contact from the Contacts Overview, you will open up their contact profile. Within a contact's profile, you will find various tabs across the top that include:

Below provides a walkthrough of the Demographics Tab of the contact profile. 

 

Demographics

The Demographics tool is designed to support you in understanding your contacts' potential wealth, background, and giving potential. To provide you with demographic data for your contacts, KIT draws from historical census data based on zip codes.

The Demographics tool is made up of various sections outlined below.

KIT Wealth Indicators (Canada)

This section displays property data for donors based in Canada (section relevant to Canadian accounts only). This data is pulled from Datafiniti which provides property data to Fundraising KIT.  

Note: This information will only populate if the data for the contact is available in Datafinity.

Summary

This section provides a brief summary of the demographic data for this particular contact. 

Note: This information will only populate if the historical data for the zip code of this contact is available.

Education Level 

This section will show you the percentage (%) of people within the contact's zip code that have of have not received a post-secondary degree.

Household Type

This section will show you the percentage (%) of people within the contact's zip code that rent a home, own a home with or without a mortgage, or fall into an 'other' household situation.

Commute Breakdown

This section will show you the percentage (%) of people within the contact's zip code that commute to work via vehicle, public transit, bike/walk/other, or work from home.
